Crewest Studio has partnered up with the Breeders Cup this year and I am one of the 5 lucky L.A. artists who is turning a life size fiberglass thoroughbred into a piece of public art!
My horse titled "PONY UP" was on display at Pershing Square (in DTLA) during most of the month of October. It will now be on view at Santa Anita Racetrack to celebrate the Breeders Cup starting this Friday Nov.4th and 5th.
The other four Crewest artists included in this campaign are: Yolanda Gonzalez, Andre Miripolsky, Michael Massenburg, and Clinton Bopp. Check out this cool little video that the Breeders Cup put together:

It all started when one of my collectors asked me to paint something fun on a piece of Samsonite luggage for his trip to Miami. The piece ended up being such a big hit that we decided to document the trip and all his adventures through the eyes of "Maleta Man" (maleta is Spanish for suitcase). I was recently commissioned to create these fun and colorful kids portraits by a man who wanted to surprise his wife with a unique birthday gift! I was recently in Chicago creating a unique piece for a collector. The piece is entitled "Self Made Man" and was hand painted with aerosol onto metal and later finished with an automotive high gloss clear coat. Here's a short time lapse video of the process. Hope you like!
