EL SERENO HAPPINESS

I was recently hired by the developers at the new Hatchspaces facility in El Sereno to create a mural that showed respect and pride for the neighborhood as well as a connection to the scientific work that would be happening inside this new facility. After many meetings and conversations we came up with an idea that would highlight the four different chemical compounds that are attributed to happiness:
dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin, and endorphin. We also chose to highlight local town hero and science leader Willie Zuniga. Watch the video below to give you a better sense of the project.

POSEIDON MURAL

Sometimes a good creative project lands on your lap and the client happens to be just as cool as the project itself. This was one of these scenarios.  Immediately it became apparent that POSEIDON was going to be the subject of the mural. Watch this short video and see how it all came together!

Some progress shots below capturing the process from sketch to painting to filming the mural and the unveiling with family and friends.

TREJO'S COFFEE AND DONUTS!

Unless you've been hiding under a rock in LA, you know that actor and all around bad ass, Danny Trejo, has opened up a donut shop in Hollywood. I was honored to have been commissioned to create two large paintings that were installed on the exterior of the flashy pink building.

Next time you go grab some donuts take a selfie in front of one of my pieces and please tag me on instagram (@manoneart)

Trejo's Coffee and Donuts is located in Hollywood:

COMMISSIONED IN CHICAGO

I was recently in Chicago creating a unique piece for a collector. The piece is entitled "Self Made Man" and was hand painted with aerosol onto metal and later finished with an automotive high gloss clear coat. Here's a short time lapse video of the process. Hope you like!

I had a great time in the "Windy City" enjoy some of the pics I took along the way.

LA BULLA EXHIBITION WAS A SUCCESS!

On April 3oth I curated a unique Lucha Libre (Mexican wrestling) inspired exhibition at Plaza de la Raza in Lincoln Heights. The event was incredible! Antonio Pelayo (Pelayo Productions) did a great job producing this event which included not only our art exhibit but also live lucha libre, film screenings by Hola Mexico Film Festival, great music by Dj Sloepoke and by El Conjunto Nueva Ola, lucha fashion show and so much more. Here's a quick video to give you a taste of what it was like that night.

Below is a slideshow with some of the paintings from our exhibition.
Interested in any of these great pieces?
They still might be available!

I will be there painting an 8'x8' live mural that will be sold off in 64 individual panels!  I will also have other available art up for auction.
